We have so many building constructions on going all over the Metro and Mega Manila area. We could only wonder who among these developers are advocating for green property development. Probably all of them are using the lead based paint due to its affordability compared to the safe and environment friendly non lead based variety. It is a practice to de lead houses in the United States and other countries. In the Philippines, there is already unleaded type of gasoline. But we have yet to hear a group advocating for the total use of non lead based paint in housing construction. Imagine the damage it can cause to the occupants of newly built houses, condominium, offices, classrooms and buildings. More alarming is the developmental damage it can bring to the unborn baby inside the womb of a mother who will live in places where lead is present.
